## BYLAW NO. 224-17 A BYLAW OF CLEAR HILLS COUNTY, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS FOR CLEAR HILLS COUNTY. WHEREAS, under provisions of the current Traffic Safety Act, f the Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, and amendments thereto, authorizes the Council to establish maximum speed limits for highways subject to its direction, control and management; and WHEREAS, the Council of Clear Hills County, deems it advisable to establish maximum speed limits for highways subject to such direction, control and management. NOW THEREFORE, the Council of Clear Hills County, in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enacts as follows: ## 1. DEFINITIONS: The following words and terms are defined as follows: - (a) "roadways" as defined by the Highway Traffic Act. 2. That a maximum speed limit of eighty (80) kilometers per hour be established for all unpaved roadways outside of the hamlets subject to the direction, control. and management of Clear Hills County, in the Province of Alberta, 3. That a maximum speed limit of one hundred (100) kilometers per hour for all paved roadways outside of the hamlets subject to the direction, control and management of Clear Hills County, in the Province of Alberta, EXCEPT, on portions of paved roads with posted speed limits, as established and described in Schedule "A" attached and forming a part of this Bylaw. - 4.. That a maximum speed limit of fifty (50) kilometers per hour be established for all hamlet roads and lanes subject to the direction, control and management of Clear Hills County, in the Province of Alberta, EXCEPT, on hamlet roads as established and described in Schedule "A" attached and forming a part of this Bylaw. 5. That the proper speed limit sign postings be established therefore. 6. This Bylaw Rescinds Bylaw No. 72-04 and Bylaw 190-14 of Clear Hills County 7. Reeve Allahus Chief Administrative Officer ## CLEAR HILLS COUNTY BYLAW NO. 224-17 SCHEDULE A" Maximum Speed limits for Hamlets and other areas specified: - (1) All that portion of Menno Simons Road beginning at the junction of Primary Highway No. 64 then South to the South West Corner of Lot No. 14 in the Hamlet of Cleardale. Maximum 60 Kilometers per hour - (2) Posted portions of the Hamlet of Cleardale. Maximum 30 Kilometers per hour - (3) Posted portions of the Hamlet of Worsley. Maximum 30 Kilometers per hour - (4) All that Portion beginning at the intersection of Highway 64 and Range Road 43.15 for a distance of 1.7 km to the George Lake Camp Ground entrance on the South West portion of Recreation Lease # 2609. ## Maximum 50 Kilometers per hour - (5) All paved local roads - maximum 100 kilometers per hour, EXCEPT, otherwise posted portions of paved local roads.
