# Building Permits
The Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 is an accredited municipality with Municipal Affairs. This means that the MD has the authority to administer the *Safety Codes Act* for the building, electrical, plumbing (including septic), and gas disciplines.
In order to supply consistent service for builders and developers within the municipality, the MD has entered into an agreement with Superior Safety Codes Inc. to provide all the required Safety Codes inspection services within the MD's boundary.
To speak directly with a Safety Codes Officer about permits and/or inspections, please contact Superior Safety Codes Inc.'s Lethbridge office at 1-877-320-0734.
Private Sewage Systems
All new septic systems must also conform the *Safety Codes Act*. For an up to date list of local sewer certified Private Sewage System installers, **CLICK HERE**.
