In the Town of Viking, Alberta, backyard hens & livestock rules are set by Town of Viking Land Use Bylaw No. 2012-640, verified 2026-09-27. Livestock rule: No fur-bearing animals, fowl or livestock (other than domestic animals) shall be kept in any Residential District unless the lot exceeds 2.0 ha. Permit or licence: Development Permit required for keeping fowl/livestock on lots >2.0 ha.
