1 Policy No. 7 "Wood Cutting Policy" POLICY NO. 7 WOOD CUTTING POLICY ____________________________________________________________________ 1. Permits to cut and/or remove firewood from municipally owned lands shall be granted to those individuals who meet the qualifications of being a resident or ratepayer and are using the wood for their own personal use and not for resale. 2. An application must be made in writing on the prescribed form and shall be processed by the Chief Administrative Officer. 3. An approved applicant shall be granted a permit to allow not more than eight (8) cords of wood per household to be cut and/or removed from municipal property. 4. A fee will be charged for the permit, which is set by Resolution of Council. 5. All permits issued shall expire on June 30th of each year. 6. No cutting shall be permitted within 100 feet of the center line of any road bordering municipal land in order to retain a green belt. 7. The Council shall have the right to cancel any permit or refuse to issue a permit where the terms of its issuance have been violated. 8.
