POLICY NO. 57
CERTIFICATES OF RECOGNITION POLICY

1. It shall be the policy of the Municipality to issue Certificates of Recognition to local
residents for 50th Anniversaries and above and Birthdays 75 years and above.
2. It shall also be the policy of the Municipality to issue Certificates of Recognition to
individuals or groups within the Municipality who contribute much to the community or who
achieve sports and other milestones.
3. The Municipality shall also present Certificates of Recognitions to volunteer firefighters,
volunteer emergency service providers and members of fire department auxiliaries who meet
the following criteria:
That have served in the capacity of volunteer firefighter, volunteer emergency service
provider or auxiliary member within the Municipality by virtue of membership in one or
more than one of the departments or associations recognized by the Municipality, for any of
the following
terms:
- 10 years
- 15 years
- 20 years
- 25 years
- and at 5 year intervals thereafter.
Said Certificates of Recognition shall be signed and presented by a member of the Barrington
Municipal Council at a function of the fire department or volunteer emergency service
provider or at a regular meeting of the Barrington Municipal Council.
4. Certificates of Recognition shall be granted upon request of citizens.
