YOUTH TRAVEL GRANT POLICY

It shall be the policy of Town Council for the Town of Bridgewater that:
1.
A travel grant will only be available to youth. For the purpose of eligibility, youth will
be defined as 'an individual who is attending an elementary, secondary or post
secondary educational institution and under the age of 22'.
2.
The grant can be given to support youth participating in sport or cultural activities.
3.
Only permanent residents of the Town will be considered for individual funding.
4.
For any team or group to be eligible for funding, 50% of the participants must be
residents of the Town of Bridgewater.
5.
Grant recipients must have earned the trip through a recognized process under the
auspices of a governing or recognized body to an out-of-province event.
6.
The maximum grant available will be the lower of $250 or 50% of the total cost of the
trip for a team and $50 for an individual recipient.
7.
A total budget must accompany any application showing both revenue and
expenditures.
8.
The grant will be administered by the CAO and the Director of Parks, Recreation and
Culture.
