## TOWN OF BRIDGEWATER POLICY APPOINTMENT OF CITIZENS TO BOARDS, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS

BE IT RESOLVED that the policy of the Town of Bridgewater with respect to citizen appointments to Boards, Committees, and Commissions within the town shall be as follows:
1. Advertise such positions in the local paper at least once per calendar year.
2. Receive, record and circulate applications to those Boards, Committees and Commissions deemed appropriate;
3. Mar.10/97 3. Require all Boards, Committees and Commissions under its jurisdiction to recommend appointees for Council's consideration from those qualified applicants who apply;
4. Appoint citizens to as many Boards, Committees and Commissions as deemed appropriate;
5. Appoint for a term of one year with a maximum of five consecutive one year appointments with exception to the Boards, Committees and Commissions which, by statute or by-law, already have a longer time established;
6. Applicants names to be kept on file for one calendar year.
