## Warden Terms of Office Policy Section 12 (1) of the Municipal Government Act requires the selection of a Warden of the Municipality be chosen by the council members from among themselves. ## 1. Purpose Section 12 (2) of the Municipal Government Act requires the term of office of the warden expires when the term of office of the Council expires, unless prior to the selection of a warden, the council adopts a shorter term of office for the warden. ## 2. Term of Office - i. The term of office for Warden of the Municipality of the County of Inverness shall be two years. - ii. The Warden shall be appointed by a majority vote of the elected Council at the first regular Council meeting following a regular election of Council or at the first meeting of Council in November, if no election of Council has occurred, after the two-year term of warden has expired. - iii.
