MUNICIPALITY OF THE COUNTY OF INVERNESS
RE: CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE
UNION OF NOVA SCOTIA MUNICIPALITIES
PREAMBLE:
The Annual Conference of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities is a
provincial body represented by elected officials from 55 municipal units
in Nova Scotia. It provides the opportunity for information sharing and
networking with elected officials in Nova Scotia. The Annual Conference
is held each fall in one of the four regions situate within the province.
PURPOSE:
To provide a procedure, under which the Municipality of the County of
Inverness will be properly represented at this conference, and to allow a
fair schedule for attendance by the Warden, Council members, the Chief
Administrative Officer and Senior staff.
POLICY:
The Warden , Council, the Chief Administrative Officer, Senior
Staff will be encouraged to attend the Annual Conference of the
Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities.
The Warden, Council, and the Chief Administrative Officer will be
encouraged to attend the annual Spring Workshop of the Union of
Nova Scotia Municipalities.
The Municipality shall budget annually sufficient finds to provide
for the attendance of the officials outlined in Section 1 and 2 above.
This is to certify that the above policy was
approved by Municipal Council on the
6thth day of November, AD, 2006.
