Image ![House and front yard](/sites/default/files/styles/media_display/public/media/images/house.jpg?itok=XghMFHsk) ## Change to Provincial requirements related to Short Term Rentals **As of August 2024, the Province of Nova Scotia has released new information and registration requirements for Short-term Rentals** You can review the Provincial news release **here**. **Although the Town of Kentville does not currently regulate short term rentals, all short-term rentals (including those in the Town of Kentville) must still be registered with Province of Nova Scotia.** You can register your short term rental with the Province here. A letter from the Town of Kentville confirming your short-term rental complies with Land Use Bylaw regulations is necessary in order to complete registration with the Province. Since Kentville does not currently regulate short term rentals, there are no bylaw requirements to comply with specific to STR's. Short term rental operators in Kentville can request a general letter signed by the Director of Planning and Development for the purposes of completing the registration process with the Province of Nova Scotia.
