-- RESOLVED by the Town of Lockeport that the following revised by-law be and the same is hereby enacted and that the Clerk be and is hereby instructed to forward same to the Minister of Municipal Affairs with a request for his approval hereof. Revised Chapter XX of the By-Laws of The ## PREVENTION OF DISORDER OR IMPROPRIETY BY-LAW - 1 No person shall shout or make any unusual noise in or upon any of the street!, lanes, highways, squares, thorough-fares or public places in the Town which shall annoy or disturb the inhabitants or citizens of the Town. 2. No person shall by challenging to fight or by using insulting or abusive laguage or behaviour, taunting epithets, or threatening gestures, attempt to provoke any other person to commit a breach of the peace within the Town. 3. No person shall act, urga, or encourage dogs to fight. 4. No person shall knock or pound on any door of any house or ring any doorbell for the purpose of annoying the inmates of any hours. 5. No person shall on any street, or in any doorway, window or other opening leading into any street, or any other public place or any places within the hearing of the public: - (a) Use any profane, obscene, loud or lascivious language. - (b) Be guilty of any obscene, lewd, or lascivious conduct or behaviour. - (c) Openly challenge anyone to fight. - (d) Use abusive or provoking language. - (e) Obstruct any person or persons in their shops of houses or proceeding in their lawful business. - (f) Be in a drunken or intoxicating state, and any person so offending may on view of the offence be forthwith arrested · and taken into custody by day or night, by any constable, policeman, watchman or any person under a verbal warrant from the Mayor, Stipendiary Magistrate or any Councillor and taken to the loçk-up and there be detained until brought before the Stipendiary Magistrate or the person presiding at the Police Court. 6. No person shall, on any public streat or lane, beat any drum, blow any hora or trangt, clang any cymbal, play any insical instrument, shout or singi after haying been regatred by any householder resident in such strent or lang) or any constable to desist from making such sound or noise either on account of any illness of any Inmate of such house or for any other reasonable cause. <!-- image --> · 2. 7. · No person or persons shall loiter in or around the entrance or steps of any ohurch, ball, or atore or ship in the Town nor around, the corners of any of the streets or lanes of the Town after being requested by any policeman or constable of the Town to move away. 8. No person shall post, put, place or exhibit in any street, lane, squard or public place any illustrated placard or show bill for the purpose of advertising exhibitions, plays or operas having depicted thereon nude or semi-aude 3. figures. 9. No person shall post, paint, or mark any obscene, lewd or indecent pictures in or on any public place in the Town nor shall any person post or 5. ) expose to the public view, any writing of any obscene or indecent tenor. 10. No person shall sit or stand on any fence or stone wall without the permission of the owner of the property. 11. No person shall wantonly and unnecessarily annoy any other purson in the Town by throwing stones, garbage or material of any kind whatever, on, to or over the premises or into or against the house, shép, or other building of or occupied by such other person. 12. No person shall wantonly and unnecessarily or wilfully and unLawfully disturb the good order or harmony of any public meeting of the Town's citizens, or others, being held in the Town for any Lawful purpose, whether such person be one of such gathering or meeting or otherwise. 13· No person shall deposit ashes, cleanings of yards, streets or other filth or rubbish in any other place or places other than as provided from S time to time by the Tom Count and omard or occupants or property within the Tom are required to remove all such ashes, cleanings, filth or rubbish to such places of.. deposit as the Council shall direct. - 140 No person shall discharge any fire-arm within the Town. 15. "Every person who contravenes or fails to comply with any of the foregoing provisions of this chapter in respect to prevention of disorder or impropriety shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisonment for two months."
