POLICY NUMBER - 61 Page 1 of 2 Policy Subject / Title - Millennium Signage - Additional Panels GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY 61.01 It shall be the policy of the Region of Queens Municipality to provide guidelines for the procedure of installing additional panels on millennium signage. GUIDELINES 61.02 The panel will reflect a significant historical aspect of the community's history or, if an individual, be reflective of major accomplishments by them. 61.03 The number of panels shall be limited. 61.04 The panels should match, in both colour scheme and size of letters, the existing sign face. 61.05 The request should, preferably, be initiated by a community organization or Councillor. 61.06 The Council of the Region of Queens Municipality must approve both adding panels and their wording. POLICY PROCEDURE 61.07 Panels must recognize some significant historical aspect of that community's history, or reflect a major accomplishment by one of its residents. 61.08 Only one panel will be considered per sign and, in the case of a community with two signs, they must be identical. 61.09 Panels and their wording must both be approved by Council prior to them being added to existing signs. 61.10 Requests should, preferably, be received in writing from a community organization or Councillor with appropriate background information. POLICY NUMBER - 61 Page 2 of 2 Policy Subject / Title - Millennium Signage - Additional Panels 61.11 The additional panels must reflect the overall colour scheme and size of lettering of the existing sign face. 61.12 Sign panels approved in one budget year would not be added until the next budget year.
