## Scope
This policy will apply to the Elected Officials of the Town of Trenton and is adopted under authority of Section 23(1)(d) of the Municipal Government Act.
## Policy
- The annual remuneration for elected officials of the Town of Trenton will be as follows:

$ 1,500 in addition to the amount for Councillor
Such remuneration will be paid on a monthly basis at a rate of 1/12 of the annual amount.
2. Effective October 1, 2004, the annual remuneration for elected officials (under Item #1.), will be increased by the annual cost of living allowance which is the Consumer Price Index at August of the current year or the average of the two Town of Trenton union contracts (namely, CUPE and PANS), whichever is higher.
2. One third of the total remuneration paid shall be considered as an allowance for expenses incidental to the discharge of the duties of such persons as elected officials and, as such, shall not be considered income for purposes of the Income Tax Act.
3. No deduction shall be made from the remuneration of an elected official for missing council or committee meetings.
