## Scope
This policy will apply to the nomination and awarding of a "Corporate Citizen of the Year" for the Town of Trenton and is adopted under authority of Section 48 (3) of the Municipal Government
## Policy
1. A "Corporate Citizen" is defined as a commercial business operating within the Town of Trenton.
2. The Trenton Recreation and Leisure Services Committee will nominate and award the "Corporate Citizen of the Year"
3. Criteria for the nomination includes, but is not limited to, a business which: participates in the life of the community through the provision of monetary and/or philanthropic efforts; encourages corporate support of community initiatives; encourages and supports employees to volunteer within the community; and outstanding and/or consistent caring for the improvement of the community.
4. The award will be presented at a Council meeting in March of each year, at the discretion of the Trenton Recreation and Leisure Services Committee.
5. The award will consist of a "Corporate Citizen of the Year" plaque with an appropriately worded inscription.
