1. This Policy is called the "Dangerous and Unsightly Premises Policy".
2. The Chief Administrative Officer shall appoint an employee of the Town as
Administrator of the provisions of the Municipal Government Act related to
dangerous and unsightly premises.
3. Council delegates its authority under s. 346 of the Municipal Government Act to issue
orders regarding dangerous or unsightly premises, including orders for demolition, to
the Property Standards Committee.
4. Where the Town carries out work on a property under s. 348(3) of the Municipal
Government Act, interest shall be payable on the cost of carrying out that work from
the date of completion of the work until the date of payment, with such interest to be
calculated at the same rate and in the same manner as interest on overdue property
taxes.
5. Policy P160-001 is hereby repealed.
