**Pre-Consultation**is required under the *Planning Act prior to*submitting a planning application, please contact the Municipality to discuss your development plans. We look forward to working cooperatively with you in an effort to support successful development in our Township.
As a property owner in the municipality, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have all the required permits prior to the start of your renovation or addition. A building permit is a license that gives you legal permission to start construction knowing that the issued drawings comply with the appropriate governmental rules and regulations such as the Ontario Building Code.
**When is Building Permit Required?**Under the Building Code Act, a building permit is required for the construction and/or demolition of a building/structure over ten square meters, an addition, or structural alteration of any building or structure. Buildings/structures under ten square meters are still required to comply to the Zoning By-law.
