Can I keep chickens, bees, or livestock on my property?
In the City of Dryden, Ontario, backyard hens & livestock rules are set by By-law 2024-23 - Animal Control By-law, Section 7 (Backyard Hens and Farm Animals), verified 2026-09-21. Max hens: five (5) on lot equal to and less than 0.4 hectares; ten (10) on lot greater than 0.4 hectares. Livestock rule: Must be enclosed in pen/fenced area/building; min 300 feet from boundary line and 100 feet from any dwelling. Setback: minimum of 4.5m from a side or rear property line.
