Town authorization (permit) is required before constructing, modifying or maintaining any fence, with a final inspection on completion. Maximum fence height is 1.5 m (5 ft) in all zones - residential, commercial and rural - but residents may exceed that by up to a further 0.6 m (2 ft) in side and/or rear yards only, for pet safety or added
