Section 24.1 prohibits keeping any animal described in Schedule 'A'. Schedule A includes Galliformes (chickens, pheasants, guineafowl, turkeys) and Anseriformes (ducks, geese, swans), so backyard hens and other poultry may not be kept in Oshawa, along with raptors, penguins, kangaroos, venomous lizards and snakes, scorpions and non-tarantula spiders. All venomous insects are prohibited except bees as defined in the Bees
