In the Rural municipality of Victoria, Prince Edward Island, backyard hens & livestock rules are set by Victoria Zoning and Subdivision Control (Development) Bylaw (2024), verified 2026-09-27. Livestock rule: The keeping of livestock shall be prohibited except on a farm property in the agricultural zone, or in accordance with Section 5.5, Fowl and Rabbits.

Fowl and rabbits permitted as an accessory use in all zones except Central Core: 1 animal unit on lots under 500 sq.m, scaling up to 50 units per 10,000 sq.m; no roosters on lots under 6,000 sq.m. Beekeeping is permitted everywhere with a 1.8m hive setback. General livestock keeping is prohibited except on farms in the Agricultural zone.
