In the City of Melfort, Saskatchewan, backyard hens & livestock rules are set by Livestock Bylaw No. 2010-14, verified 2026-09-27. Livestock rule: Livestock prohibited within City limits except where permitted under this Bylaw or Zoning Bylaw. Setback: at least fifty (50) metres from any dwelling other than the dwelling occupied by the person in charge of the livestock in question.
