## TOWN OF OGEMA BYLAW NO. 293
## A BYLAW TO REGULATE WALLS, FENCES, HEDGES OR SHRUBS ALONG A LOT LINE
The Council of the Town of Ogema in the province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
Walls, fences, hedges or shrubs may be erected, placed, planted, maintained or grown along a lot line only in conformance with the following regulations:
## 1. Residential Districts (Diagram "A")
- (a) No wall, fence, hedge or shrubs located along any lot line, other than those in a required front yard, shall exceed two (2) metres (6.56 feet) in height.
- (b) No wall, fence, hedge or shrub shall exceed 0.75 metres (2.46 feet) in height in an intersection sight triangle.
- (c) In the case of corner lots, no fence, hedge, shrub or wall shall be placed so as to create a visual obstruction in an established sight triangle. The sight triangle in a front yard shall not exceed 7.5 metres (25 feet) in length on the corner lot lines (front and both side property
## 2. Commercial Districts
- (a) No fence, hedge or shrub, other than those required as screening shall exceed (2) metres (6.56 feet) in height.
- (b) In the case of corner lots, no fences, hedge or shrubs shall be placed so as to create a visual obstruction in an established sight triangle.
3. The use of electrified or barb wire as fencing material within the town limits must be approved by town council.
4. Issuance of Fence Permits
- Every application for a permit to erect or construct a fence shall be in Form "E"
- ii. Where a fence is to be erected or constructed and the municipality is satisfied that the fence once constructed will conform to the requirements of the bylaw, the municipality upon receipt of the fee shall issue a permit for the erection/construction with a written letter
- ili. The issuance of a permit with respect to the construction of erection of a fence or wall shall be conditional upon the height of such structures not exceeding 0.9 metres above surrounding grade levels when located in the required front yard, or 1.8 metres above surrounding grade levels when located in any required side yard or rear yard
- iv. For the purposes of this bylaw, a front yard is deemed to be the area which physically separates the front lot line from the nearest main wall of the principal building or structure on lot.
- V. Subject to the provisions the fee for a permit to construct or erect a fence or a wall shall be $10.00
