## Rural Municipality of Cana No. 214 ## Bylaw No. 03/2024 A Bylaw to Manage Vehicle Weights The Council of the Rural Municipality of Cana No. 214 in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows: ## 1) Purpose - 1) The purposes of this bylaw are: - b) to designate routes within the municipality that any vehicle or class of vehicles is required to use when being driven in the municipality. - a) to establish and adopt a vehicle weight management system to regulate the weight of vehicles, or vehicles with their loads, using municipal highways or any particular municipal highways in the municipality; and ## 2) Definitions - 1) Except as hereinafter provided, words used in the bylaw shall have the meanings ascribed to them in The Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 2010. - 2) In this bylaw: - b) "Minister" means the member of the Executive Council to whom for the time being the administration of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997, is assigned. - a) "Administrator" means the administrator of the municipality, appointed pursuant to section 110 of The Municipalities Act. ## 3) Weight Limits on Certain Roads - 1) No person shall, without a permit issued by the Minister pursuant to section 36 of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997 operate or move or cause to be operated or moved, on or over a municipal highway a vehicle, the gross vehicle weight of which exceeds the limits set out in section 3.2 and 3.3 of this bylaw. - 2) The following municipal roads that are built to primary weight standard and indicated on Appendix "A" shall be set at primary weights as set out in The Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 2010: - b) Township Road 232 from Highway #10 East approximately 300 meters to G3 Elevator Approach. - a) Range Road 2062 from Highway #15 South to Township Road 220. - c) Township Road 230 from Highway #9 East to Range Road 2040 - 3) All other municipal roads shall be set as secondary weights as set out in The Vehicle Weight and Dimensions Regulations, 2010. - d) Township Road 232 from Highway #9 West to Range Road 2042. ## 4) Permit Fees - 1) $50 per single trip with the exception of spring road ban season; - 3) $300.00 for an annual permit. - 2) $100 per single trip during spring road ban season; and ## 5) Penalty - 1) A person who contravenes any provision of this bylaw is guilty of an offence. - 2) The penalty for breach of any provisions of this bylaw shall be those set out in the General Penalty Bylaw of the municipality. ## 6) Repeal - 1) That Bylaw No. 10/2019 and Bylaw No. 13/2019 are hereby repealed. <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> Bri Phen Reeve - Brian Reinson /Beatty Administrator - Marj Beatty (Section 18 of The Municipalities Act) Read a third time and adopted this g" day of July, 2024 Trend * ## Appendix "A" Bylaw No. 3/2024 Primary Weight Roads <!-- image --> <!-- image --> ## Appendix "A" Bylaw No. 3/2024 Primary Weight Roads <!-- image --> <!-- image -->
