## BYLAW NO 204-2023
## A BYLAW TO REGULATE THE SPEED OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF INDIAN HEAD NO. 156
The Council of the Rural Municipality of Indian Head No. 156 in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:
## 1. Short Title
This bylaw shall be known as and referred to as the "Speed Limit Bylaw".
## 2. Purpose and Intent
This bylaw is intended to:
- Identify areas within the R.M. of Indian Head where reduced speed is limited and;
- b. Set out the penalties and /or fines for those persons who exceed the speed limits in the reduced zones on public highways.
- a) "highway" shall mean any public highway or roadway within the Municipality under the direction, control, and management of the Municipality and "public highway" means a public highway as defined by The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997;.
## 3. Definitions
- b) "motor vehicle" shall mean a motor vehicle as defined by or pursuant to The Traffic Safety Act;
- a) No person shall operate a motor vehicle at a speed greater than which is posted on any highway
## 4. Provisions
- b) All highways within the Rural Municipality of Indian Head shall not exceed 80 km/hr. with the exception of those highways which are identified in Schedule A for which will have a maximum speed of 60 km/hr. and forming part of this bylaw.
- c) No person shall deface, injure, destroy or remove any speed limit sign or marker erected in according with the provisions of this Bylaw.
## 5. Enforcement
- a) A person who contravenes any of the provisions of this Bylaw is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a penalty of that identified in The Highway and Transportation Act 1997.
- b) Enforcement of this Bylaw may be made by a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and/or Peace Officer duly appointed for the enforcement of Municipal Bylaws through a resolution of council.
## 6. Repeal
Bylaw No. 200/2023 is repealed.
7. Coming into Force This bylaw shall come into force and effect on the date of its final adoption.

## SCHEDULE A BYLAW 204-2023
The roads and/or highways within the R.M. of Indian Head No. 156 which shall have a maximum speed posting of 60 km/hr. as listed as follows;
- a) Experimental Farm Road - East of the Town of Indian Head (West of Section 19 Twp 18 Rge 12 W2M) for one mile.
2. ) TWP RD 184 - Directly North of the Town of Indian Head tor 1 mile. Directly East o wv 56 to Experimental Farm Roa
- c) Grid 619 - South of the Town of Indian Head to the R.M. of Montmarte boundary (West of section 18/7/6 Twp 18 Rge 12 W3; West of section 31/30/19/18/8/5 Twp 18 Rge 12
The following roads are subject to other local bylaws and/or regulations which are not governed by this bylaw;
