## BYLAW NO. 3-2022
## : RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF LONGLAKETON NO. 219 A BYLAW TO AMEND BYLAW 6-2013 KNOWN AS THE ZONING BYLAW
The Council of the Rural Municipality of Longlaketon No. 219, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enact to amend Bylaw No. 6-2013 as follows:
## 1. Interpretation
- 1) The following definition and table are to be included in subsections 8.6 and 9.6 for interpretation and reference:
Animal Unit - The kind and number of animals calculated in accordance with the following table:

## Application
- 1) The following subsections are amended to allow for changes to the keeping of livestock regulations:
- Subsection 8.6.9 is amended by deleting the existing table and replacing with the following:

## 2) Subsection 9.6.17 is amended by deleting the existing table and replacing with the following:

- 3) Subsections 8.6.10 and 9.6.18 are amended by replacing them with the following:
- b) Manure shall be removed and responsibly discarded or composted on a regular

- c) Disposal of deceased animals shall be done in accordance with Ministry of Agriculture regulations.
5. e). Prior to acquiring animals, it is recommended that interested individuals consult with their neighbours to identify and address any potential issues or conflicts.
- d) Vacant lots cannot be pastured without council approval.
- 4) The following shall be added as Subsections 8.6.11 and 9.6.19:
The keeping of poultry shall be permitted in accordance with the following conditions:
- a) A temporary development permit is applied for, and upon approval, reviewed
- b) The site and coop shall be properly secured and maintained so as to deter predators and to limit excessive smells or noise.
- c) The sale of eggs on-site shall not be permitted without an application and approval for home-based business.
- d) All hens shall remain in the coop or an enclosed and secured run at all times.
- e) Chicken coops shall be located in the rear yard of a property or to not interfere with neighbours enjoyment of their own property.
- f) No coops or runs shall be located within 30.50 metres (100 feet) of an adjacent
