RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF PLEASANT VALLEY NO. 288
BYLAW NO. 01-2019
A BYLAW TO ESTABLISH SECONDARY WEIGHTS WITHIN THE
MUNICIPALITY
The council of the Rural Municipality of Pleasant Valley No. 288, in the Province of
Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
PART 1 - PURPOSE AND DEFINITIONS
Purpose
1.
The purpose of this bylaw is to establish a designated vehicle weight management system
to regulate the secondary weight vehicles, or vehicles with their loads, using particular
municipal roadways in the municipality.
Definitions
2.
(1) In this bylaw:
(a) "Administrator" means the administrator of the municipality;
(b) "Council" shall mean the Council of the municipality;
(d) "Municipality" means the Rural Municipality of Pleasant Valley No. 288;
(e) "Secondary Weight" means secondary weights as established by The Vehicles
Weight and Dimension Regulations, 2010"
PART 2 - SECONDARY WEIGHT ROADS
Designated Secondary Weight Roads
3.
That all developed and elevated road segments within the Rural Municipality of Pleasant
Valley No. 288 shall be designated as secondary weight roads EXCEPT the following
road segments, which have a gross vehicle weight restriction of 8 Tons (8,129 kilograms).

That portion of the "Bickleigh Grid" located South from Highway #7, West of Sections
13,12,1-29-18-W3, West of Sections 36,25,24,13-28-18-W3, North of the South Half
of Section 13-28-18-W3, and West of Sections 18,7,6-28-18-W3 to the South
Boundary of the R.M. of Pleasant Valley No. 288.

That portion of the "D'Arcy Grid" located South from Highway #7, West of Section 7
& 6-29-18-W3, West of Sections 31,30,19,18,7,6-28-18-W3, and South of Section 6-
28-18-W3 to the R.M. of Snipe Lake No. 259 boundary.
PART 3 ENFORCEMENT
Penalty
4.
Any person guilty of an infraction to any of the provision of this bylaw shall be liable to
the penalties described in Schedule A of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997 for
the Province of Saskatchewan. Contravening a minister's order (road ban) or weight and
dimension regulations by exceeding permit weight or other conditions.
Category D: Fines to a maximum of $1,000, or $2,000 if a corporation.
5. That Bylaw No. 02-2018 be hereby Repealed
6. This Bylaw shall come into force on 25th day of February, 2019.
