## PRIVATE SWIMMING POOLS ## TOWN OF SOUTHEY ## BYLAW NO. 10-1998 A BYLAW TO REGULATE AND ENSURE THE SAFE OPERATION OF PRIVATE SWIMMING POOLS. The Council of the Town of Southey in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: - That the following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this Bylaw-. - Swimming Pool: Any structure, basin, or tank containing an artificial body of water for swimming, on recreational bathing and having a depth of two feet or more at any - b) Private Swimming Pool: Shall mean and include a swimming pool that is not defined as public swimming pool in the Saskatchewan Regulation 144/71 under The Public Health Act\_OC585-711)- - a) That all swimming pools within the town shall be enclosed with a suitable fence a minimum six (6) feet in height; said fence shall present an exterior surface such as to make it nonClimbable, and all doors, and/or gates to give access the pool shall be locked at all times the pool is not in use or under the supervision of a responsible person over the age of sixteen years. - b) That the drainage of all water from any swimming pool shall be pumped out at a controlled rate into a stora sewer, where same is available; or into a domestic sewer when the storm sewer is not available. - c) That under no circumstances shall water be drained or discharged from a swimming pool onto or across private or public property unless within a system of pipes. - least one ring inches in diameter to which shall be attached rope 3/16 inch in diameter and of a length at least equal to the greatest dimension of the swimming pool and one life pole; feet iong and having or shepherd's crook type of at least ten blunted ends, shall be provided.
