M '1 ,--., ,-. i TOWN OF STRASBOURG BYLAW NO. 284/02 A BYLAW TO PROHIBIT SMOKING IN CERTAIN PUBLIC PLACES The Council of the Town of Strasbourg, in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as follows: 1. INTERPRETATION In this bylaw: "Place of Public Assembly" means a building or portion thereof where members of the public assemble whether by invitation or by general admission for the purpose of worship, entertainment, recreation, business or amusement and includes, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, theatres, municipal office, arenas, recreation centers, pool and billiard halls, bowling alleys, bingo halls, curling rinks, churches, church halls, concert halls, auditoriums, swimming pools, movie houses, lecture halls, libraries, museums and art galleries; "Smoke" or "Smoking" means the lighting, carrying or smoking of any lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or other smoking device; and 2. PROHIBITION: 1. No person shall smoke in any of the following places of public assembly, at any time, as hereby listed below: a) Strasbourg Town Office being the building situated on Lot 19 & 20, Block 6, Plan E5079 at 200 Mountain Street. b) Strasbourg & District Community Recreation Centre, being the building situated on Ptn NW 24-24-22-W2 as described on C of T 74R12067 on Erickson Road. c) Strasbourg Memorial Hall, being the building situated on Lots 11 - 15, Block 3, Plan E5079 at 113 Pearson Street. d) Strasbourg & District Museum, being the building situated on Parcels S & T, Plan 72R18823 at 501 Railway Avenue. e) Strasbourg Fitness Centre, being the building situated on Lots 18 & 19, Block 3, Plan E5079 at 136 Mountain Street. 3. SIGNS 1. "No Smoking" signs shall be posted in a conspicuous place within the premises. 4. OFFENSES AND PENAL TIES 1. Any person wh9 smokes within an area set out in section 2 is guilty of an offence against this bylaw. 2. Any person who is guilty of an offence against any provision of this bylaw shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of not more than: a) Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars, in the case of an individual; and b) Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars, in the case of a corporation;
