## VILLAGE OF MAYO BYLAW 95-133
A bylaw to regulate the control and operation of snowmobiles within the Village of Mayo.
WHEREAS the Council of the Village of Mayo may regulate operation of motor vehicles pursuant to section 286 of the Municipal act, and
HEREAS the Council of the Village of Mayo deems it desirable to provi nerally for control of operation of motor vehicles and specifically to preserve t ublic peace through the limitation of the hours of usage of snowmobiles i ccordance with the Motor Vehicle Act of the Yukon Territory
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the municipality of the Village of Mayo in open meeting assembled, hereby ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
## Short Title:
- This bylaw may be cited as the "SNOWMOBILE BYLAW".
## General Regulations:
- No person shall operate a snowmobile anywhere within the Village of Mayo between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
3. a) Ski trails will be designated by the Village of Mayo Council or an officer of the Village of Mayo acting on behalf of the Village of Mayo Council.
- b) No person shall operate a snowmobile on a designated ski trail without permission from the Village of Mayo.
- The provision of the bylaw shall not apply to peace officers acting in the course of their duties.
5. Council of the Village of Mayo hereby provides for the appointment of Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers as enforcement officers as provided under Section 383 (3) (a) of the Municipal Act.
## Penalties:
- Penalties for an offence under Section 2 of this bylaw shall be:
- a) for a first offence a fine not to exceed $ 100.00;
- b) for a second offence a fine not to exceed $ 250.00;
- c) for a third and any subsequent offence a fine not to exceed $ 500.00.
## Repeal:
Bylaw No. 102 is hereby repealed.
9. This bylaw shall come into full force and effect upon final reading hereof.
